Submission Guidelines and FAQs - Finding Vegan

1. Who Can Submit?

Anyone! ..all you need to have is:

1) a beautiful photo displaying your "vegan find".
2) a website/blog that links to more info about your vegan find.

Anyone can submit. No need to register!

Note that all submissions are individually moderated and Finding Vegan reserves the right to remove/reject submissions. You must own the copyright to the photo you submit.

And even if your website is not 100% vegan, that's OK! You can still submit your vegan recipes/reviews/content.

2. If I don't register, how do I track my submissions?

Your published submissions will be tracked via the website domain you submit with.

For example, if you submit a www.ILuvVegan.com website link - that submission tag will be #ILuvVegan.

If you submit for multiple websites - your submissions will be tracked via multiple tags.

Submissions are also tagged into main categories. See below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. What are the categories of submission?

You can submit just about anything vegan (except for anything offensive of course) and it will get a fair review.

Some ideas of tags already created include:

Recipe - Food - Drink - Fashion - Book - Travel - Event - Product - People - Resource - Dining - Science - Animals - Health News - Celebs - Wellness

..... and more to be added!

If it's a cool vegan find to you - submit it! If we like it and it doesn't match one of these tags - that's OK, we'll craft a new tag for it.

4. How do I Submit?

Step One: Find something awesome that's VEGAN-friendly. A recipe you created and blog-posted - a new product you spotted at the store and reviewed - a new book you read about vegan living - a vegan-friendly meal you ate at a restaurant - a vegan-friendly travel experience, a healthy event, asnazzy piece of animal-free clothing - and on and on and on. So many vegan possibilities out there to DISCOVER!

Step Two: Take a fabulous photo and blog post your find. Yes your photo will have to pass our editorial test. No fuzzy, blurry, dark, oddly framed, bad-lighting photos will be accepted. Remember, the photo you submit must be YOURS - you took it, own it and authorize us to re-post the pic here on FindingVegan.com.

Step Three: Resize the photo to meet our 300 x 260 px requirement. OK, OK, if the photo is not perfect we will fix it for you - but to speed up your submission, please try to get the photo size a close ratio of 300 x 260. 400 x 325 works too - same ratio.

Step Four: Click the red SUBMIT button on the FindingVegan.com homepage. Follow the instructions. Add your image, a click-through link (to the specific post about the image) and a very breif description of your photo. One line only. If your description is too long we reserve the right to edit it down.

Step Five: Click Submit! That's it! Please check FindingVegan.com to see your posts (Currently, due to high submission volume, we are not sending accepted/not-accepted e-mails).

Step Six: Visit www.FindingVegan.com to bask in your submission glory.

5. Why Was My Submission Rejected?

*Duplicate Submission

*Poor Quality Photo - no this doesn't mean you photo was "bad" and needs a time out. It just means that it does not meet the image quality for the site. Clarity, framing, color and light are all very important factors in your photos. Use a high quality camera. Use a few editing tools if you have time. Make your vegan discovery shine!

*Poor Subject Matter - lack of interesting subject matter for the FindingVegan.com audience.

*SPAM/Sales - yes, you can submit a review of a product - but if the photo or link are too slimy salesman - it won't get accepted.

*Photo Framing - your image was OK, but the framing of the subject matter was off or didn't fit th FV 300 x 260 box correctly

If you are rejected - don't give up! You can resubmit the post with another image from the post.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. Can I Only Submit Food/Recipes?

No way! See the submission categories above - but remember there is a whole beautiful vegan world out there beyond Vegenaise, Babycakes and Raw Nut Cheese.

Vegan food is a very popular topic for FV, but use your imagination and submit your "Vegan Finds" to share with the world.

And FYI, even if your website is not 100% vegan - you can still submit vegan-friendly recipes/content.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7. I want to Tweet/Link/Email a specific posted photo - How do I get the permalink?

All published images are numbered. Click on the number in the tag row and you will be directed to the permalink page for that submission.
